The Sony released Xperia M4 Aqua at Mobile World Congress 2015 (MWC 2015) at Barcelona, Spain. The mid-range device is going to be a game changer considering its robust specs and killer design. The 5.2” device looks very similar to Sony’s flagship Xperia Z3 series.
Sony smartphones are known for its waterproofing features. M4 Aqua is safe up to IP65/IP68 specifications. This means the device can be underwater for around 30 minutes at the depth of 1.5m. For the first time Sony smartphone will have cap less USB charging port. Consumers won’t have to struggle with the cap while charging or data syncing anymore. For photography, the handset is equipped with 13MP Exmor RS sensor in the back camera with F2.0 Aperture, ISO 3200. For selfie lovers, there is 5MP front facing shooter with 88 degree field view super-wide angle lens.
The device is only 7.3mm thick and weighs around 136g. The thin and sleek dimension of 145.5mm x 72.6mm x 7.3mm further enhances the look of the device. Imaging is one of the three core strengths of Sony and company has promised superior image quality with this sensor as compared to other mid-range devices in the market.
In terms of chipset, Snapdragon 615 chipset with a 64-bit Octa-core Cortex- A53 processor is at the heart of the CPU. For graphics, there is Adreno 405 and 2GB of RAM to ensure the smooth functioning of components. The four cores of Cortex-A53 are clocked at 1.5GHz and another four ticking at 1.0GHz. 8GB expandable storage with NFC is also on-board.
To power all this top notch hardware along with 720p IPS display of 5.2″, the company has provided 2,400mAh batter with ‘STAMINA Mode 5.0’to manage power supply at an optimum rate.
The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua will be out this spring for the price of $330.
