Samsung launches Galaxy Edge at MWC 2015 event

The Mobile World Congress witnessed the launch of several technologically advanced smartphones, which has kept the conference very busy. The new addition to the list of these smartphones is the new Samsung Galaxy Edge. The design of the phone is very unique and flawless. The Samsung Galaxy Edge is 7.0 mm thin and it weighs around 132 grams.edge

The phone sports a 5.1 Quad HD Super AMOLED but with a dual-edge display with Corning Gorilla Glass.“With the all new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, Samsung is offering what’s next in mobility, along with a new standard to drive the global mobile agenda,” said JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung.

The new phone claims to provide higher performance and enhanced memory speed with lower power consumption. The Forbes reports states that the chips inside will be 35% more battery efficient than the Snapdragon SoC in Samsung S5.In terms of connectivity, the device supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), LTE Cat 6 (300/50 Mbps), HT80 MIMO (2×2) 620 Mbps, NFC, Bluetooth and IR Remote.

The Samsung company has also announced an extremely new concept like Apple pay, known as Samsung pay. The service is more compatible than Apple as well. The phone also has fingerprint scanning and it has the Samsung KNOX. The Samsung Pay service works both in MST and NFC. Additional features of the phone include Download Booster, Microsoft Apps (OneDrive 115GB for 2 years, OneNote), Ultra Power Saving Mode, S Health 4.0, Smart Manager, S Finder and S Voice.

The devices are available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz (Galaxy S6 only) and Green Emerald (Galaxy S6 edge only). The Galaxy S6 edge will be available globally starting from 10 April. No information about the pricing has been declared now.
