Google adds more functionality on search engine to achieve better results such as reviews, apps, news, recipes, video etc. Let’s say we are looking for country time zone, like “USA time now” it results in card showing current time in USA. As a same way, Google will start to show the card with download link from an official developer website. It doesn’t sound much more interesting because people download applications from their favorite website. Apart from ending up search on non-trusted download site. Google application download card saves time on searches and gives an easy way to install apps from the official website.
For example, if a user searches for “get audacity” or “download audacity” phrases. Instantly, Google results a developer card with “Go to download” button and logo on side. Similarly, users can easily navigate to developer download page on the first result. This indicates the search algorithm will not show results from top website, instead shows an application card with download link from an official developer website.
At present, these direct download link results are available in the US. Google’s card result will be available in different countries in the coming days. Some result is not precise on all software searches result, when we Google for “Download Mozilla”. Search result card download link navigates to Mozilla official page (Mozilla.org), instead of taking to the download page.
Basically, the search result card adds download links from most people searched download page. And that link is used on Go-to download link on application download card results. Apart from downloading application from malware website, it is one of the best ways to install applications. Google might integrates same feature not only in software result, but also in games download search in the future.
