Acer revealed a new Windows Phone 8.1 handset, the Acer Liquid M220 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). It has also announced 3 smartphones along with one Windows Phone smartphone at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
Acer Liquid M220 runs on a 1.2 GHz dual core processor. It features a 4 inch WVGA screen with 512MB RAM, and it also offers a 5MP rear camera. It also has dual-SIM feature available and a 4 GB expandable storage. The front camera is 2MP and the battery is a 1,300mAH.
The phone will soon get Windows 10 after the new operating system will be revealed at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in late 2015. The phone by default contains a Windows 8.1 operating system. The phone is extremely pocket friendly and first of its kind device to be getting the Windows 10 operating soon by the end of 2015.
The Liquid M220 costs only 79€, which is only about 90$ in the United States and it will be launched in all the upcoming and developing countries of Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The availability of this mobile is not yet unveiled in the United States as the Acer Company for now is only focussing on the emerging markets so that it can greater profits.
The company will also be launching other smartphones along with Liquid M220 at the Mobile World Congress and it is the only smart phones which do not have an Android on it.
Other Acer smartphones set to arrive at MWC 2015 include entry-level Liquid Z220 (89€), the upper midrange Jade Z (199€) and Liquid Z520 (109€), These phones and the M220 will be compatible with the Liquid Leap+ companion wearable, an activity tracker that supports Android, Windows (Phone), and even iOS platforms as its OS-agnostic.
