Sony Xperia Z5 vs Moto X Play – quick comparison between features, price and specs

Sony Xperia Z5 and Moto X Play are the two most anticipated Smartphones of the year. At this juncture, let’s take a quick look on both the devices to judge their likes and dislikes. As we all know that, Sony unveiled Xperia z5 in three different variants. When it comes in variants, most of the people think about storage space. Unlike other manufacturers, The company decided to release Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact as well as Premium/Plus version. All three variants differ from size, features and price.

Xperia Z5 based on three variants, it’s a great idea to attract all level consumers. Motorola launched Moto X Play featured Smartphone to compete with Xperia Z5. At a glance, let’s compare both the device according to display, camera, storage, processor, battery life etc.

Display:  The Moto X Play sporting 5.5-inch LCD display that supports 1080p video resolutions. Even though, Sony has bit smaller screen size than Moto X Play. Xperia Z5 Premium stands on the other side with 5.2-inch 4K resolution. Most importantly, Xperia Z5 is the first Smartphone to get 4K display screen.

Storage: Android Headlines reports, Motorola added two variants in Moto X Play storage. It is said that, the device will have 16/32GB phone memory and extend memory with MicroSD slot. Price range also varies with storage choice. On the other hand, we have Sony Xperia Z5 featuring 32GB internal memory. Surprisingly, Sony beats Moto X Play with 200 GB storage supports via MicroSD slot.

Processor and OS: Moto X Play powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octo-core Processor that back up 2GB RAM, whereas Xperia Z5 carries Snapdragon 810 chipset with 3 GB RAM. According to the latest rumors, Sony is working on Xperia Z5 ultra which unlocks Snapdragon 820 Processor. Both the devices are pre-installed with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. We can expect latest Android marshmallow (6.0) in the future.

Camera: Sony included 23MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera. While Moto X Play brings 23 megapixel rear paired with 5 megapixel front selfie shooter. More pixels don’t make any sense, as most of the Smartphone facing thermal problems. Sometimes, our phone automatically shut down due to long usage or running more application one at a time. In our latest test, Sony Xperia Z5 device slightly heat-up while recording 10 minutes 4K video. This seems to be a good thermal management in Xperia Z5.

Battery Life:  According to Techradar, Moto X Play brings 3630mAh long lasting battery, whereas Xperia Z5 comes out with 3430mAh battery.

Price: Motorola started Moto X Play sales in their official store priced £299. On the other hand, Xperia Z5 Premium is already listed in Sony UK store with £550 price tag.
