LinkedIn’s 100 Most InDemand Employers

LinkedIn is the most popular social  networking site for the professionals, as you know. It has 238+ million users around the world who are connected with former and present colleagues, top level employers, HR team and valuable tips for quality job searching. Thus, LinkedIn builds a strong bridge in between a Siliconvalley company and high class working professional in Hyderabad Shanghai etc.

Unlike other social media users, LinkedIn users always keen on better placement opportunities and career development. Now the company has unveiled its list “100 Most In Demand Employers of 2013″, which shows the 100 most sought after companies on LinkedIn. Itanalyzed more than 25bn interactions, among theothers, to prepare the list. The analysis also includes a number of views of company pages and their followers.

Google ranks top in the list, as expected. Apple took the No.2 spot followed by Unilever Procter & Gamble. 8 out of top 10 companies are from US and top two companies are from the technology sector.Microsoft took 5th spot and social media giant Facebook ranks at 6th. 42% of the 2013 Most In Demand employers are located outside the U.S., compared to 32% last year. 12 companies in the UK, 6 in France, 4 in Germany occupy spots in the list. LinkedIn excluded itself from the list to maintain objectivity.

Other highlights of the survey :

  • Technology and Packaged Consumer Goods companies – like Google and Unilever – dominate the top 10
  • Shell entered the top 10. In fact, 16 Oil & Energy companies made this year’s list, compared to 10 companies last year.
  • Spotify, based in Stockholm, is the smallest company to make this year’s list at #99
  • Amazon broke into the top 10 – they tripled their LinkedIn followers over the past 12 months
